About

I am a software engineer, I mainly work with WordPress and React professionally, but I’ve done loads of other languages and frameworks outside of work. I’m currently working on a couple of games in Godot, but if they’ll ever see the light of day remains to be seen.

I’ve been producing music since about 2007, and since maybe 2011 I have been rapping as well. I used to make solely instrumental music, inspired by stuff like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, among other things. Now I make what I would categorise as conscious hip hop, some inspirations being artists like Alfa Mist, Loyle Carner, billy woods, Earl Sweatshirt.

I use Renoise and have pretty much exclusively used Renoise the whole time I’ve been making music. It’s good, and it’s cheap. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I’ve got a lot of instruments that I’ve collected over the years – guitars, keyboards, percussion, etc. To be honest none of them can rival the trusty macbook.

I like engineering and 3D printing, electronics, general repair and making stuff. I have made quite a few modified or custom RC vehicles. It’s easy to work on that scale, and parts print quickly. I’ve got an Ender 3 that is still going strong. I don’t use it that frequently, but when I need it, I give it a quick level and it normally works pretty well.

I have a bit of a bicycle obsession. Currently at 6 in the stable – though not all complete/usable. All but one of them are steel (the best material for bicycle frames).

I like working on cars, I currently have two – a reliable diesel daily estate, and my track car, which is a RenaultSport Clio 197. The Clio has certainly kept me busy (and poor) in the two years I’ve owned it. I haven’t really modified it, but have done a lot to keep it on the road.
