I built this piece of software to save myself some time. I was practising chord tones on guitar in order to try and improve my soloing (jury’s out on that one).
It’s a fairly simple app built in Svelte that allows you to generate guitar charts pretty simply. It runs in the browser, it’s free to use. Maybe it’s helpful. It uses tonaljs for chord/scale identification – I started writing my own lib for this, but it was a gigantic pain.
Features
Arbitrary note selection chart rendering – doesn’t have to be a recognised chord or scale
Chart minimum and maximum fret, in order to generate smaller, more memorable positions.
Key and Progression modes, which allow you to put in any number of chords up front, and will generate a full sheet of charts
Print stylesheet – press Ctrl/Cmd + P – there’s styling in place to simplify for print, whether to paper or PDF.
Disable strings, disable individual notes on chart
Built in metronome
Transpose everything +/-
Save chart to browser localstorage for later reuse
